Penalty Date May 7 - If May 7th falls on a weekend or legal holiday, the property statement may be filed or mailed and postmarked on the next business day.
The San Bernardino County Assessor provides several options for filing Business Property Statements (571-L):
This link takes you to the centralized California electronic filing website where you can enter data (with validations and automated calculations) and submit electronically.
Benefits:
- Enter your data online
- Automatic validations and calculations
- Pre-fills your statement with costs from your previous year’s statement (when the previous year’s statement was also filed via this website)
- Saves all e-filings filed via the centralized California website
- Receive a confirmation
Requirements:
- You must have an account number and BIN number (click here to request your account number and BIN number)
Pre-Filled 571-L (Account Number and BIN required)
Blank Form
This link takes you to a blank Business Property Statement that you can print, fill out, sign and mail.
Benefits:
- Receive the form immediately
Disadvantages:
- Must write information on the form
- Does not have automatic validations and calculations
- Does not pre-fill your statement with costs from your previous year’s statement
- Does not provide a confirmation

- Must have a printer

This link allows you to request a blank Business Property Statement to be mailed to you via the USPS.
