The Recorder is responsible for the recordation and safeguarding of any document that is authorized or required by statute or court order to be recorded and meets the recording requirements of state statutes and local ordinances. As an extension of the State, the Recorder also maintains all vital records consisting of birth, death, and marriage records that have occurred in San Bernardino County.
